Welcome
Just 40 minutes from downtown Charlotte, Seagraves Circle S Farms is located on 70 acres of gently rolling hills owned by Brian and Crystal Seagraves. Black Run Creek steadily trickles through the farm and feeds one of the two ponds located on the property. By chance, my husband Brian and I met at the beginning of 2004 while I was messing with horses. I needed some hay and Brian had some for sale. We both knew after our first conversation we had found our life long partners! He enjoyed farming, messing with cows and had been around horses although never owning one. Jake was purchased and he and Brian have been buddies ever since. We were married on April 14, 2006 and I have been so blessed to have a supportive husband that lets me live my dream! He built us a beautiful house that we moved into September 7, 2007. Brian makes hay for all the animals and has done a great job teaching me how to operate machinery to get various jobs done. Land and animal managment is a job that has a continious cycle!
Seagraves Farms is home to miniature horses and ponies registered with the American Miniature Horse Association (AMHA) American Miniature Horse Registry (AMHR) and World Class Miniature Horse Registry (WCMHR)
From the beginning, in 2003, our goal was to raise miniature horses that were able to compete at a national level. Through trial and error, daily we learn more and more about what it takes to get there. Our horses are sold throughout the USA and we take pride in placing them in caring and knowledgeable homes. 2008 is especially exciting for us with a new home and great barn facilities.
My love for animals started at a very young age, they provided a needed outlet for a young lady with alot on her mind. Though the neighbors horses were my only daily contact with equine, it was all I needed to see how healing these creatures could be. I broke my first horse at the age of 15 and despite already being "horse crazy", I knew they would be a lifelong commitment. Everyone has that one something in life that really brings out the best in their spirit, for me, its the back of a green horse. I have yet to feel such an empowering and peaceful place. My dream is to work for God's purpose using his gift of horses to help others look to him through open eyes!
"Full size horses" were the foundation of our farm long before the minis. The registries have varied though-out the years but predominantly consist of The American Quarter Horse Association (AQHA), American Paint Horse Association (APHA), and The Appaloosa Horse Club (APHC). All of these breeds have offered us tremendous versatility. We use our riding horses for pleasure and try to keep a well broke horse for sale at all times. Honesty is very important to us and we want to make safety a priority above all. Other animals here on the farm include a constant herd of 30 cows, 5 goats, some chickens, and three mischievous Labrador Retrievers.
Thanks so much for taking the time to visit on the web! If you would like to come visit with us in person please call ahead so we can arrange to be home, we look forward to seeing you! If you have any questions about us or what we have to offer please feel free to contact.
